My opinion

"A CD that is just as impressive as it is redundant", that's my opinion on "Red Harmony" of the sympathetic gentlemen Patrick Riguelle, Jan Hautekiet and their new companions Werner Lauscher en Joos Van den Broeck, in a nutshell.
Red Harmony is filled with 13 very tastfully and passionately interpretated versions of 13 great and honest songs. Through their integrity, empathy, musical talent and good taste, the resulting CD is very entertaining, and it remains a treat to hear how singer Patrick Riguelle, just as in his daily song on de Laatste Show on TV1, is able to vocalize such difficult songs. The CD also "rocks" harder than their first one ("A Minor Thing") because of the new cast, albeit "rocking" in the Radio1-sense (nice and polite, wiping its feet before entering...).
But, and this is my point (or so I believe): to judge on the quality of these Riguelle-Hautekiet "interpretations" I went looking for the original tunes/interpreters (and btw : it's official now: Napster sucks - no results anymore - Audio-galaxy rules) and the result is astounding: I now have a great CD! And it isn't called "Red Harmony" at all, but "Red Harmony - the Originals". Truly it isn't. No way.
So let's applaud Riguelle en Hautekiet! Give 'em a 10 for taste and record collection.

This Album in the Press

Red Harmony is pretentieloze ontroering".
- Luk Vilain in ??
