LAST "KISS MY JAZZ"-SHOWS EVER ? Kiss
My Jazz is announced to be giving their two last concerts ever, at the Ancienne

The band consists of a large herd of Antwerp-based musicians, with Rudy Trouvé,
Stef Kamil Carlens, Elko Blijweerdt, "Viking" Dave Robertson, Heyme
Langbroek, Dirk De Hooghe & Mauro Pawlowski.
Immediately after the release of their third and last album "In A Service
Station", there were some rumours that this would be the last album of the
project, and these rumours now seem to substantiate, though there is no formal
reason for the break-up.
Tickets for the shows can be found at the AB-site :
- for Tuesday
January 25th, 2000.
- for Wednesday
January 26th, 2000.

DE LAMA'S RETURN TO THE SCENE De
Lama's, the terrorizers of anyone with good taste in music sung in Dutch,
have taken the unusual step of getting together again, and releasing a Chrismas
Single. "Miljoenen Kalkoenen"
should mean the rescue of thousands of turkeys from the Holiday Season, and the
return in full force (only Mies Meulders is missing) of De Lama's after almost
five years of absence.
The B-side of the single was supposed to be "Kreeft", a new text for
Radiohead's "Creep", but Warner didn't like that idea very much. There
are however, some plans for a new full cd ("Gratis Poesjes" - Free Pussies),
and if there's enough demand for it, a number of live gigs.

L.SANTO RELEASES SECOND SINGLE L.Santo,
formerly known as The Nothing Bastards, have just released "Me & The
Morning", their second single.
The band, with the Puerto-Rican singer Gabriel Rios, drummer/journalist Sven De
Potter and percussionist Jesse Roosen (Fifty Foot Combo, Stuffed Babies on Wheels)
has been described as "vampire-mambo" or "anarcho-pop-punk-rock-speedtrash-Latino-hardcore",
and features a mixture of rock and salsa. On the single (a production of Staf
Verbeek, released on the label Stricktly Confidential), this mixture is present
also, with the poppy & dreamy "Me &
The Morning"
and the firy "Yo No Bailo". The Nothing Bastards were finalists in the
Rock Rally of 1998 and got fab reviews for their steaming live set.

SKYNET ORDERED TO CLOSE DOWN MP3-SITES
Belga reports that Belgian internet-provider Skynet was ordered by court to close
the sites of their customers who link to illegal MP3-sites. The internetprovider
was sued by IFPI, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, for
breaches of the law on "fair commerce". Meaningfull in this court order,
is that the provider itself has to take steps to close down the illegal sites.
IFPI even can get half a million fr. per day when Skynet doesn't comply with this.
Telecom operator Belgacom, the holding company of Skynet, will make an appeal
since "we cannot be held responsible for the things our customers put on
their sites".

TMF LIVE PRESENTS ... ARID TMF
is starting with a new program "TMF live presents ... " in which bands
will be taped while soundchecking and performing live. The first two bands that
will feature on this show are the Double T-bands Arid
and Kashmir (Denmark). They will both perform at the club of the Ancienne Belgique
in Brussels on Monday November 15. The first show will be aired somewhere between
Christmas and New Year.
Meanwhile, Studio Brussels reported that there's a good chance Arid will tour
with the American band Live in the coming months : the band still has to decide
which group will open for them on the European leg of their world tour. In Belgium,
Live will be at Flanders Expo on December 9.
NOORDKAAP SURPRISE GUESTS AT THE PROMS
The Belgian Proms (which always feature pop-artists with a classical orchestra,
this year with Zucchero, Natalie Choquette, John Miles and Status Quo), have had
a number of surprise guests appearing during the first three nights : on the first
night, Noordkaap's Stijn Meuris and Lars Van Bambost appeared
and performed an acoustic version of "Satteliet Suzy" and "Ik Hou
van U". On the second night, surprise guest was Paul
Michiels, on the third night Clouseau
appeared.
More Proms (but not necessarily with these artists, but certainly with the orchestra
Il Novecento conducted by Robert Groslot on 5, 6, 7, 10, 26 and 27 november and
on 2, 3, 4 and 5 december. Tickets via 070/345.345.
Somewhat related is the news that Noordkaap's retrospective compilation album
"Avanti", is almost ready to hit the shops : there are two new songs
on it. "Goed nieuws ..." is aimed at Studio Brussels, while "Zoals
een mooi verhaal" aims at Radio 1 (it is a song by Ann Christy, with lyrics
translated by Els van Den Abbeele from a song by Michel Fugain).

FILIP & MATHILDE CHOOSE MUSIC FOR THE WEDDING
The royal wedding ceremony, December 4 in Brussels, will be musically led by Philippe
Herreweghe and his orchestra Collegium Vocale.
On the eve of the wedding, there will be a big engagement party at the royal palace.
Artists who will sing at that occasion are Will Tura, Adamo
(will he get to sing "Dolce Paola", and if so, won't that bring up any
new rumours about children in wedlock...?), Sarah
Bettens, Toots Thielemans, Raymond
Van Het Groenewoud (will he sing "Weg met Boudewijn, Leve Fabiola"
?) and Philippe Lafontaine. Others might follow, but all will be accompanied by
"De Straffe Mannen", de backing band of Raymond.
Will Tura, who also sang during the burial mass of the late King Baudoin, has
just released a cd with nothing but gospel- and christmas-songs. Needless to say
he will perform his song "Oh Happy Day" on the royal occasion.
TWO RUSSIAN COWBOYS SPLIT
It might come as a shock, but the harsh truth is that the band Two Russian Cowboys
is no longer. Two Russian Cowboys (or Zwa Ruskava Kavbodja as they were called
in their home country), were some remainders of the Ugly Papas (Dick Descamps
& Luc Dufourmont) together with Hugo Bourgeois.
Before you all hurl "Disaster" and throw yourself off the nearest bridge,
you should know that it isn't until 11 and 12 November that the last candle of
the band will be blown out. Info : Luc Dufourmont.
FRONT 242 OPENS DISCOTHEQUE IN BRUSSELS
On November 6th, discotheque "Who’s Who’s Land" in Brussels will re-open,
albeit under the new nam Studiolive (the old one was closed down in January after
a drug razzia). The reopening will have music from Airlock and Front 242.
Place to be : November 6, Priemstraat, Brussels.
