"Featured Meta Site"
(October 2000)

In October 2000, UBL (the Ultimate Band List / Artistdirect) had the following text about my site up as a "featured meta site":

Featured Meta Site: The Belgian Pop & Rock Archives
Everyone say it together: Jacques Brel. That's right, he's probably the most famous pop artist to come out of Belgium, the tiny nation nestled between France, Germany and The Netherlands. But one glance at The Belgian Pop & Rock Archives will prove that he's just the tip of the waffle. More than 200 artists are listed, with bios, CD reviews (usually) in English, track listings, press clippings and a place for you to add your 2 cents. Pop into the discussion boards to talk album trades, show reviews, add links, and more. Browse Belgian bands by genre or read up on the history of Belgian pop & rock music, dating back to the '50s. There's even news, demos of new bands, and a listening room where site visitors rate new music. By the time you're done, you'll have realized that Soulwax and Hooverphonic are from Belgium, plus some other new music you're the first on your block to hear. ...The Belgian Pop & Rock Archives.
