Lamp & Lazarus is in fact a duo, made up of Lamp (Guido Van Hellemont) & Lazarus (Wim Bulens). These two started out singing together with Johan Verminnen.

When Kris Debruyne, who already had a career going on, joins the duo in 1971, the trio had a surprise hitsingle with "De onverbiddellijke zoener / De peulschil".

Shortly afterwards, Kris Debruyne leaves them again to devote himself to the more serious part of life. Lamp & Lazarus team up with Luc Guillaume (Luk Vankessel) but they lack the songwriting ability of Debruyne.

Guido van Hellemont works with the VRT, but he has kept on composing (e.g. he is the composer of the title music of the success series "De Kampioenen", although Rocco Granata also claims that honour).
