First single is the terrific "Bojangle plays tonight" of 1979, which
was released as a double sided single with the band Specimen & The Rizikoos
(Walter Verdin, Karel Vereertbrugghen, Josse De Pauw
et al). After that follow a few other brilliant songs ("Breaking up",
"Tonight", "Credo"), a lot of personality clashes within the
group, personnel changes, a best-of Album, a split (Rick Tubbax vs. The Taxi's)
and the end.
In more recent days, Rick Tubbax turned himself into a producer : he has formed
his own television production house (Tubbax TV) which had contracts with the prime
Flemish commercial TV-station VTM and produced shows with Bart Peeters & Hugo
Matthysen (such a La La Live). In 2000, he said goodbye to this enterprise, and
joined Woestijnvis (De Mol - The Mole) where he became the publisher of the weekly
magazine Bonanza.
Jan Cordemans, bass-player for the group, later on formed a group called "The
Mood", that got itself a good live-reputation but didn't go beyond that.
